Fascinated by the many curious objects I always discovered at my grandparents’ house, I decided to use these intriguing spaces as inspiration for a design assignment. In the form of a newspaper, I connected a given text about everyday life with images I collected from their home. Instead of traditional chapters, the structure of the publication is guided by the different rooms in the house. By pairing the collected images with personal photographs of my grandparents, the newspaper becomes a reflection of both the text’s theme: the beauty of the ordinary, and my admiration for them.

The project also became a tribute to my late grandfather. I asked my grandmother to write down specific memories next to the photographs, which created a touching dialogue between the personal and the mundane, between memory and object.
