From an old specimen book, I chose Gothic Round and developed a modern, updated version of it. I really enjoyed designing a typeface with soft curves and striking contrasts.

Later, I created two additional typefaces: Breakaway and Offside. Breakaway explores outlines and circular forms, while Offside emerged from experimenting with stencil fonts and the rhythm of recurring white spaces.

The round forms and playful character of the letters reminded me of sports, especially soccer. As a side project, I designed my own jerseys using the fonts I had made. I screenprinted the designs onto shirts at Het Lab.
